Are You Wondering How You Can Afford Vocational Training?
At I-TAP, our goal is to make sure your electrical training is not only practical and valuable but also cost-effective. We work closely with students to identify available grants, financing options, and other resources to help make your education more affordable when you enroll in or complete our program.
Please note: The availability of funding from outside agencies, such as those identified below, is at the discretion of those agencies. I-TAP cannot and does not guarantee approval processes that are independent of our organization. We do, however, assist students in understanding these organizations’ requirements, so that you will be more likely to be approved for funding and/or grants.
Federal Pell Grants
Pell Grants are a great source of financial assistance, as they are like scholarships—they don’t have to be repaid like student loans. Pell Grants are awarded based on your income, financial need, and other factors. When you are awarded with a Pell Grant, a set amount of money is disbursed every year to I-TAP to cover part of the cost of your education.
What you need to know about Pell Grants:
1. A Pell Grant will not cover the full cost of your tuition. The maximum value of a Pell Grant is $7,395 for the 2024-2025 school year.
2. To apply for a Pell Grant (and other federal financial aid opportunities), visit the Federal Student Aid website.
3. On the Federal Student Aid website, you must complete and submit the FAFSA form. Be careful to follow all instructions, and submit it before the deadline. Don’t wait til the last minute!
4. The FAFSA will ask for your school code. The school code for I-TAP is 042728.

Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act
Under the provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, the state of California offers grants to qualifying students who meet certain basic guidelines for assistance. Students can qualify for WIOA assistance based upon financial challenges such as low income, being a parent, having a learning disability, diagnosis of ADHD, and/or other qualifying determinations subject to WIOA’s current regulations.
