I-TAP's electrical apprenticeship program provides students with the education required to be employable as a commercial electrician trainee.  Upon completion of the curriculum, students will have earned an California Electrical Trainee Card, and are eligible to take the California General Certification Exam. Then, once you've fulfilled your work hours, you can become a journeyman electrician!

What education do you need to become an electrical apprentice?

You don't need a college degree to become an electrician, but to become an apprentice, you will need to go through an electrical apprenticeship program like I-TAP's, and have either a high school diploma, GED, or CHSPE high school equivalency. Once you have enrolled at I-TAP, you can obtain your Electrical Trainee Card, start working as a trainee, and become an electrical apprentice once you've earned your necessary hours and finished your coursework.
